River’s Favourite: Kore Honey Bear Smoothie Recipe
This Kore Honey Bear smoothie recipe blends the natural sweetness of ripe bananas with a generous drizzle of pine infused honey straight from the forests of Kore. Inspired by my novel the Anima Corps, if you’re looking for a sweet, creamy, and wholesome way to start your day or a comforting treat that brings sunshine to your glass, look no further. It’s River’s first pick out of the smoothies from DFAC’s menu. It’s cozy, nourishing, and packed with feel-good ingredients!
(makes 1 large or 2 small servings)
Ingredients:
1 ripe banana (use frozen banana for creaminess)
1 tbsp natural peanut butter
1 tbsp Greek raw pine honey, or any kind of honey (use up to 2 tbsp for the full honey bear experience)
2 heaped tbsp of plain Greek yogurt
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
4-5 ice cubes
2 tbsp vanilla protein powder
1 tbsp hulled hemp seeds
1 tbsp flax seeds
Instructions:
1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender.
2. Blend until smooth and creamy. (add more milk if it’s too thick)
3. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Notes:
Taste and adjust:
More honey = sweeter
More banana = creamier and thicker
More cinnamon = warmer flavour
More protein powder = some protein powders instruct that you can have up to 4 tbsp, so you can add more for a higher protein smoothie.)
2. Fun types of honey varieties I’ve used to make this smoothie extra special:
- Raw forest pine and oak honey
- Honey with honeycomb.
